Shiv Kumar Batalvi as name suggests was native of Batala town and is renowned Punjabi poet and the winner of Sahitya Academy Award in 1967. He is counted among best punjabi poet along with Bulleh Shah, Waris Shah, Pash, Bhai Vir Singh , Surjit Pattar, Harman Rani tatt etc

Our endeavour is to make Batalvi Sahib's punjabi poetry available to all Punjabis residing across continents to enjoy the love and pain expressed by Shiv in his poetic compositions.
